Renewed Pixel Dungeon is a 2d dungeon-crawler roguelike game based on the open-source Pixel Dungeon, where you venture into a deep dungeon in search of the legendary Amulet of Yendor.
Features
Choose from 4 classes: The Warrior who excels at melee combat, The stealthy Rogue who dodges better with light armor, The Mage who specializes in wands to attack from a distance, and The Huntress who throws a boomerang at enemies!
Each class can be upgraded into subclasses upon defeating the 2nd boss. Each class has 3 subclasses with perks and maybe downsides.
Each class also gets to choose from 3 choices of items to help start each run. Try different choices to make each run more unique!
Explore the dungeon, randomly generated each run for a unique experience. Discover loot, hidden doors, and hidden traps. Battle numerous enemy types in turn-based combat. Defeat them to level up!
As you venture deeper, you meet stronger enemies, and even Bosses. Most enemies have special abilities! Gnoll Scouts call in reinforcements from their horde when attacked! Undead Thieves steal an item from you then attempt to run away! Dwarf Warlocks launch blasts of weakening magic at you! And much more!
Numerous items await you in the dungeon. Melee Weapons, Thrown Weapons, strong Armor to protect yourself, Wands with many different effects, Rings that passively makes you stronger, numerous Scrolls and Potions to make use of, single use items such as Bombs, and more! Make use of them to survive each situation.
Upgrade your items and enchant them! Increase your strength to utilize stronger equipment!
Renewed Pixel Dungeon is a mod of the open-source Pixel Dungeon by Watabou, ported to LibGDX by Arcnor. The port was then updated to 1.9.2a by gnojus. This mod is made from that version. This mod is its own game, you don't need the vanilla version to run.
If you have played Vanilla, this mod adds or changes many features from it, such as:
New subclasses for each class.
Choose an extra item to start each run. Each class have different choices.
Melee weapons actually deal damage when thrown to different degrees of effectiveness.
Some thrown weapons are re-usable.
Removed item degradation for the base game, but if you like it, you can activate a challenge that re-enables it.
Hunger system has been changed. It takes longer to starve but with more severe punishments for starving.
New items, such as melee weapons, thrown weapons, wands, plants, etc.
New enchantments. Some enchantments are also changed.
New enemy.
New lore.
New challenges after winning at least once, for a more adjustable difficulty (the base game should be slightly less difficult than Vanilla while still being challenging).
More quickslots with full hotkey binding.
Balance changes and calculation changes. Some unlucky RNG are less punishing.
Changed some effects.
A new room in the Dungeon.
